I saw the Phantom Surfers last night. They were very good, though I didn't stick around to hear the Gamera theme.

Illustration Friday: Mind

A new one, done for the ever-wonderful, ever-weekly Illustration Friday project. Speaking as a person who dwells inside his own noggin sometimes, this one carries special meaning. Drawn with a combination of pens on inexpensive printer paper, scanned on an Epson WorkForce WF-2630, and colored in the current release of GIMP.

When you draw and color what you think is a generic, classy-looking 1930s woman and realize you just inadvertently reinvented Patrick Nagel.

Three New Ones

Three illustrations that will appear in a to-be-announced publication (not long from now, really). I'll add further details when the time arrives. Unrelated item: I deleted 250+ old posts, and their related images, this morning. Some of 'em dating back as far as 2005. Let's call it a determined case of closet-cleaning, and removal of a lot of substandard work that I'd rather not share with the art-appreciating public. Stuff from the last couple years remains.
